About us

Consultants who have run businesses, not just advised them.

Stable Rock Partners was built around a straightforward observation: the advice that transforms a mid-sized company is not complicated, but delivering it takes senior attention that most firms will not give at a price an SME can justify.

Who we are

A consultancy sized for the businesses we serve.

We are a business consulting firm headquartered in Dubai, working almost entirely with small and medium-sized companies in the United Kingdom. Our practice covers three areas: reducing cost, transforming how a business operates, and moving the right functions into outsourced or managed delivery.

Our clients typically turn over between £2m and £50m. They have grown past the point where the founder can hold everything, but they are not large enough to carry a strategy team, a procurement function or a transformation office. They need those capabilities for a defined period, applied to a defined problem, then handed back.

That is what we are for.

We are not trying to become part of the furniture. A good engagement ends.

Our base

Why a UK-focused firm is headquartered in Dubai.

Three reasons, and none of them is a tax slide.

Cost.
Running a consultancy out of Dubai rather than central London removes a substantial layer of overhead. We pass that through in our fees, which is a large part of why senior-led consulting is affordable to a £10m business at all.
Reach.
Dubai sits between Europe, Asia and Africa. When an outsourcing engagement calls for delivery capability in South Asia, Southeast Asia or Southern Africa, we are already in the right time zone and the right networks to build and govern it properly.
Perspective.
Working across multiple markets means we see cost structures, operating models and supplier arrangements that a purely domestic firm does not. A good deal of what we bring to UK clients is simply the knowledge that something can be done differently, because we have watched it done differently.

Operating principles

Six things we hold to.

  1. 01

We tell you if there is nothing there.

Not every business has meaningful cost to remove. If the diagnostic says so, that is the answer, and we will not manufacture a project out of it.

  2. 02

We size everything before we start.

No engagement begins without an agreed number attached to it and an agreed way of measuring whether we hit it.

  3. 03

We work with your team, not around them.

The people who run your business every day know where the problems are. Our job is to give them the time, method and cover to fix them.

  4. 04

    We do not sell software.

We take no commission, referral fee or rebate from any supplier, platform or outsourcing provider we recommend. Our advice is paid for by you and by nobody else.

  5. 05

    We write things down.

Every recommendation has a written rationale, a value, an owner and a date. You keep all of it, whether or not you use us to deliver it.

  6. 06

    We leave.

The point of an engagement is that the business is better and does not need us. We plan the exit at the start, not when the budget runs out.

Leadership

The people you will actually be dealing with.

Every engagement is led by one of three senior roles, and that person stays with the work from the first conversation to the final handover. Named profiles, portraits and LinkedIn links are published here once each partner has signed off their own biography.

  • Two advisers reviewing a printed savings report at a desk under a brass lamp.

    Managing Partner

    Scope, commercials, client relationship

Sets the scope with you, prices the work, and stays accountable for whether the promised number arrives. Signs off every diagnostic before it reaches you.

  • Printed supplier contract and cost analysis on a boardroom table with reading glasses.

    Partner, Cost & Procurement

    Supplier, contract and overhead work

Runs the line by line review of your cost base, leads the renegotiations, and builds the contract register and renewal calendar your team keeps afterwards.

  • Managed service team working at desks on an open plan operations floor at dusk.

    Partner, Operations & Outsourcing

    Process, systems and transitions

Redesigns how work moves through the business, then plans and governs any transition to a managed service so that service levels hold throughout.

Let us look at your numbers.
